Squeezing God into your busy modern life
There are mornings where I wake before the sun comes up and a list has already grown as long as that same list Santa holds in each movie you've seen him checking. Okay, maybe that was a slight exaggeration as well as the dramatics. My life is consistently working hard, kids, driving, and rest...well not all the time. One of the biggest gifts that I hold onto dearly is my faith-God. When I get up in the morning before everyone does and before I get to that list, I sit still in my living room..and talk to God. Some people don't understand it, but as a single parent, it is my only time I can hear God. The wind rustles through the blinds early in the morning, the whisper of crickets finally coming to a halt, the sun peeping over the mountains miles away, and I sit still, eyes closed, hands clasped, speaking to God of all my thanksgiving, all His tribulations and lessons, prayer for my enemies, prayers for my girls, prayers for people who need it or have asked me for prayer this week. I have recently learned to be still...be still in His presence so that He can work out the tangled mess that we humans tend to get ourselves into. LOL And some messes are bigger than others! Who cares! But through t all, He stands by you...the tears, laughter, etc.
